About Left Coast Fitness

Left Coast Fitness is the culmination of 30 years' work, learning and experience.

In 1981, I came to the fitness world to recover (begrudgingly) from the debilitating effects of drugs and alcohol. I was 31 years old. Weight training helped me reclaim my life, providing a focus and purpose for my damaged body and struggling spirit. My friends quickly saw how my body and spirit had changed, and they asked me to share that knowledge. At first I did so informally, but word spread. Soon I was hired to train others. Zo DeMuro

Over time, I established three principles that guide my work with athletes and non-athletes:

  1. Awareness of how one's body moves and works throughout the day - real fitness must match (fit) the specifics of each person's physical life.
  2. Balance in diet, exercise, rest, and relaxation - extremism ultimately leads to failure.
  3. Commitment to doing those things which promote a full and capable life - coaching is more than training; we work together towards a common goal.

At Left Coast Fitness, I design and coach fitness programs that are accessible and enjoyable for all levels of experience and ability. Each client's program is tailored to their own needs and interests. I equip my clients to meet their lives' physical challenges and opportunities head-on.

I'm talking real fitness for real people!

My methods vary with each client's wants, needs and abilities. For some, that's understanding and developing balance and effective movement in their daily lives. For others, it's slinging iron and sandbags, sledgehammers and ropes. Cookie-cutter solutions are ineffective. Life is fluid and dynamic; your workouts should be too.
